Volunteer with Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation and help us keep dog waste out of our parks and river. This project is made possible with the help of dedicated volunteers and community partners. What's Your Style? Protect the Truckee River Watershed by Picking up Dog Waste We all have our own style of doing things and this includes how we pick up after our dogs Whether you have the perfect jump shot every time you go for the trash can, pick it up with world record speed, or know the ultimate one handed life hack, when you pick up after your dog you're helping protect the Truckee River Every time it rains or snow melts, dog waste is washed into drains and storm sewers. The waste, full of unhealthy bacteria, flows with the stormwater directly into ponds, lakes, and rivers. In high enough quantities, the bacteria and parasites found in dog waste cause bodies of water to become unsafe for recreation activities like swimming and fishing. 1/4 Find a Station Near You Questions? Comments? Concerns? Contact Us at info@tmparksfoundation Community Partners Thank you, Healthy Tails, for your donation of 1,000 Dog Bag Leash Dispensers! Thank you, Natural Paws of Galena and the Storm Water Permit Coordinating Committee for your help with repeated donations of dog waste bags for the Doggie Ambassador Project!

- Nevada Transportation Trails and Tourism | tmparksfoundation
2022 Nevada Transportation, Trails, and Tourism Summit The 2022 Nevada Transportation, Trails, and Tourism Summit brings together diverse outdoor, transportation, and tourism communities to learn, build relationships, and find solutions to the challenges in developing and elevating active transportation, outdoor recreation, and community collaboration opportunities. The 2022 Summit combines high-impact in-person networking opportunities with conference programming on the important issues of the day including relevant educational content, in-field tours, workshops, and exciting keynote speakers. Recent years have been challenging, and more Nevadans than ever have turned to the outdoors for recreation, solace, health and fitness. The combination of COVID-19 and other major events has impacted us all, having disproportionate health, economic, and social impacts on communities of color, older adults, and people with disabilities. The public, private and civic sectors are seeking to address these challenges, often with constrained resources and this event creates an ideal forum for cross-cutting and the development of innovative solutions. As we move forward, we must collaborate to systematically erase the existing disparities in health, safety, mobility, and economic prosperity in our communities and in the transportation, tourism, and outdoor sectors. Sponsorship Information With your support, the summit will accelerate efforts to: Connect Nevadans of all backgrounds and abilities to active transportation options and the outdoors and increase health equity Empower Nevada communities to grow and flourish through the development of tourism and outdoor recreation partnerships Address the impacts of climate change on outdoor recreation and build climate resilience through sharing of active transportation information Build a culture of environmental and cultural stewardship and healthy recreation Provide an off-street network of trails for recreating and traveling within and between Nevada communities Attract a wide range of visitors that contribute to Nevada’s urban and rural economies Support sustainable entrepreneurship and a thriving transportation economy that reduces economic disparities Sponsorship Levels Corporate Sponsor $1,500.00 or above Display table space, Individual company banner, Program agenda header logo Platinum Session Track Sponsor/Vendor $500 - $1499 Display table space, program agenda header logo, sponsor banner logo, podium logo Gold Sponsor/Vendor $250- $499 Display table space, program agenda logo, sponsor banner logo Silver Sponsor/Vendor $100-$249 Display table space and sponsor banner logo In Kind Sponsor value to exceed $100 in time or support Display table space and sponsor banner logo Please consider a sponsorship to help make this combined Summit for Transportation/ Tourism and Trails a quality experience for all attendees WE’RE HAPPY TO CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE TO MEET YOUR GOALS. - SSP School Pricing | tmparksfoundation
School Pricing What is the Student Stewards Program? The Student Stewards Program is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and standards-based curriculum that uses citizen science and environmental stewardship to get kids excited about the natural world and their local parks. Parks become learning laboratories where students learn about their environment and collect real data for local and national research projects. This program opens students’ eyes to the value and opportunities that exist in STEM fields and helps prepare them for success in postsecondary education and careers in science. More information available at the Student Stewards Program webpage. Who Is Eligible? By focusing on schools that are near or adjacent to parks (no more than one-mile walking distance), the program eliminates transportation costs. We can accommodate schools that can transport the students to the park. The program is available to schools with majority free and reduced lunch populations (50.1% or more) and schools without the majority of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Costs per classroom are described below. Free & Reduced Lunch Recipients Cost per Classroom 50.1% and above FREE! 0-50% $5 per student *classroom = one class of 35 students or less
- Parque de Somersett Oeste | tmparksfoundation
With community input, the City of Reno and the Somersett Owners Association have partnered to design and build a new park in West Somersett. Confluence Art Project Confluence: Stream Science, Handwriting and Urban Curbs, is a temporary public artwork, a mile-long, six-thousand-word poem about water and land. It’s meant to be read in pieces as you follow the flow of water through Reno. Our Vision: Water flows from mountain peaks to oceans and lakes, moving through forests and cities, bodies and pipes. While scientists study ‘wild’ water in mountain streams, that same water flows through urban landscapes and waterways. Confluence playfully brings these connections to our attention through poetry, running along the Truckee River through Reno’s parks and neighborhoods. Using bright yellow, adhesive-backed sheets and a digital cutting process, the lettering is done in a font made especially for this project from the handwriting of Claude Dukes, Federal Water Master in the Reno area from 1958 until his death in 1984. The text is written by Todd Gilens, based on four years assisting ecologists in the Sierra Nevada, as well as research on ancient water systems, and field work with urban structures and buried streams. Water ties everything together, shaping the world while changing from one form to another. Attention to the role of water affirms our interdependence with the land. With contributions from individuals, businesses, civic and governmental agencies, Confluence has become a lively and personal public artwork. The Confluence Poem seen on the sidewalk near the river in Downtown Reno. The Confluence Route Map Confluence being installed. A close-up of the script. Funding Needs: We are now seeking funding to preserve and distribute the poem in book form. Photographs of the installation, and essays by William L. Fox and Elizabeth Koebele, scholars in environmental art and water policy, will add dimension to the meaning of the work. We hope to issue the book sometime in 2024. Please consider a donation if you are able. To reach us with questions and comments, please contact - todd@toddgilens.com Donate Here! 1/1 Thank You to our Supporters
