Wow! Registration for the 4th Annual Carpe Diem Fishing Derby has reached full capacity faster than ever before. We are thrilled by the community’s excitement, and to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone, registration is now closed. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you next year!

Free Youth Fishing Poles

Thanks to the amazing generosity of Scheels, we will be giving away free youth fishing poles to the first 160 attending Carpe Diem this year (poles will be given out day of derby)! Youth that don't receive a pole will be given a voucher (while supplies last) to pick one up at Scheels in Sparks! Don't wait, reserve your spot early and bring the whole family for this fun fishing event!

Check in will begin on the day of the event, starting at 7:30am at 6800 Pembroke Dr, Reno, NV 89502

Fishing begins at 8am.

Fish caught prior to 8am cannot be counted towards Derby weigh-ins.

Fishing ends at 12pm and you must be in the weigh-in line by 12pm.

Winners will be announced around 12:15pm near the Nature Center.

A grand prize will be given for most carp caught in an

adult category and children's category.

We also have trophies for longest and heaviest and shortest carp in both adults and children's categories.

Snacks, raffle tickets, shirts and more will be available for purchase to help support the derby and the Rosewood Nature Study Area.

No dogs (except service animals) allowed at this event.

If you are looking for fishing help or kids fishing equipment, please visit the Nevada Department of Wildlife Area.

7:30am - Check-in Begins

8am - Derby Begins and Fishing Opens

8am-12pm - Fish Weigh-ins

12pm - Fishing Concludes

12:15-12:30pm - Fishing Awards, Raffle Winners

Please remember to have a Nevada fishing license

current on the day of the event for adults and children over 12.
