The Parks Rephotography Project Exhibition Sparks Library starting March 14th Check out our Parks Rephotography Exhibition at the Sparks Library 1125 12th St, Sparks, NV 89431 Join us for the Project Reception on Thursday, March 14th anytime between 5pm and 7pm. Refreshments will be provided! Historical Rephotography The historical component is a volunteer-driven initiative that strengthens our sense of place in Truckee Meadows. Historical photos from personal, public, and private collections are recreated by volunteer photographers to document long-term change in our parks. There are currently 22 historical and rephotographed images of parks in Truckee Meadows. These photographs have been recreated to show the effects of time, the environment, and public policy on our parks. Contemporary Rephotography The contemporary component is a volunteer-driven initiative where site stewards commit to taking one picture of the exact same park scene every three months. The goal is to create a continuous photographic record documenting change in our parks. Five of the site steward’s collections will be printed and displayed at the Rephotography reception event.
