Ammenities Over Time
The amenities within this small gem are amazing to behold. Who would think that in just 4.5 acres you could play several sports or simply loaf in the sun. History shows that the planning for Wilkinson Park began in 1951as part of Wilkinson subdivision.
A playground, restrooms and a shelter were dedicated in 1955, and in 1959, the city of Reno became the official owner. Early on, just a small portion of the park was planted, however, the City added sod to more areas and planted many of the beautiful, mature trees still there today. As recently as 2019, $155,000 in Reno block grants was spent to revitalize the aging tennis courts.
If sports is not your game, come to Wilkinson Park anyway to simply enjoy nature.
